Mysti Dyse

I am a Black, African American. I speak both English and Spanish, and I specialize in providing Doula services to Black families in Oakland. I have been involved in birth, pregnancy, postpartum, and baby care for over 12 years, starting as a massage therapist attending my first birth in Los Angeles. After many years doing informal Doula support for friends, family, and my massage clients; I attended formal training 2 years ago. I was also a part of Beloved Group #4 and am honored and blessed to come back to my community and serve families the way I was during my pregnancy.

I’m all about empowering folks to make confident decisions that bring peace, joy, and fruitfulness to their lives, especially those who face the harsh realities of the U.S. healthcare and socioeconomic systems.

I am a certified Doula who has trained with Black Women Birthing Justice and Roots of Labor.

I am contracted with the Alameda Alliance of Health - Managed Care Plan as a Medi-Cal Approved Doula.

My training includes African American Postpartum Care with SMC Doula, American Red Cross Adult and Infant CPR certification, American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification, and I am an Evidence Based Birth Professional Member.

Additionally, I am a Certified Blactation Educator and a Certified Blactavist Peer Counselor, allowing me to provide comprehensive lactation support and education while knowing when to refer to an IBCLC (Certified Lactation Consultant).

My approach to birth support is a beautiful blend of evidence-based and holistic care. My deep reverence for the miracle of life shines through in every birth I attend. With me by your side, you can trust that you'll be fully supported and able to make informed decisions that feel right for you and your family.

I am aFull Spectrum Doula/ Community Birthworker and my doula business is Soul and Soil Doula Services, soulandsoildoula.com, @soulandsoildoula on Instagram and Threads, email: soulaandsoildoula@gmail.com.

I am just a midwest girl living in a Bay Area world. I am 28 years old and am originally from Wichita, Kansas, born and raised. I made my life changing trip to the bay in 2019. I saw my first Birthing experience at a state fair field trip in the 3rd grade when the laboring prize pig decided to have her little piglets just as my class entered the arena. That truly sparked my interest in birth and pregnancy. While in high school I thought I wanted to be an OBGYN, so I completed all of my college courses to recieve my CNA/CMA to start that journey. I started my career as a CNA right out of high school. Realizing that I had huge passion for connecting and engaging with clients more than my job allowed, I decided to pivot to a more personal work; and I'm glad I did! I have a real and true passion for connecting with my people and serving my community. I really enjoy being a Doula and helping my sistas with the very transitional and powerful experience of giving birth. I have had two natural births of my own, which blessed me with two beautiful daughters. I value the ability to help guide my sistas, and their family, through whatever birthing path they choose to take into motherhood! I believe in empowing all mamas to make the choices they feel are right for them and advocating for them when faced with adversity.

I truly put my whole heart and soul into this work and hope you'll allow me to be of service and experience this ride with you

2 Timothy 1:7 reads "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." As a woman, we all have the same feeling when labor is near. We all feel fear, but this scripture reminds us that we have nothing to fear. Our bodies were made to create the one thing that is most precious in this world, LIFE!

My name is Dominique Shaw-Ojigbih, affectionately known as Dom The Doula. I am from South Carolina, born and raised. I obtained a B.A. in Sociology in the year of 2010 at Claflin University, one of the top HBCUs in the country! Twelve years later in 2022 I became a certified Birthing Doula in the state of California with some Lactation Training and Certified in CPR. I am a devoted wife with a loving husband and a proud mother of 3 beautiful children. Having given birth to each child in different locations I noticed the differences in each experience but the one common denominator they all had was a lack of my best interest in mind and heart. No mother should have to give birth in a room that lacks love, compassion, empathy or respect. Jehovah-jireh has given me these strengths to support mothers to complete the hardest job they will ever have in their lives, CHILDBIRTH. With me, you get more than just a Doula. You get a daughter, a sister, a mother, a niece, an auntie, a cousin, and a friend.
